Bogus Choices

What if you had a way to use the democratic process to get people to do exactly what you wanted, at every election? What if you could guarantee that no matter how people voted, or who they voted for, things would still fall the way you wanted them to? And best of all, they didn't even know it was happening?

Don't look now, but we're living in just such a system, and have been for decades. How do they do it? All it takes is control of the media, and it's easy. For example, you're being told that the only choice you have in this election is between the Republican candidate and the Democratic candidate - whoever they are. But that choice is bogus - it's not really a choice at all, because it doesn't matter which wing of the Republocrat party you vote for, you're still voting for the old politics, and for all the catastrophes they've led us into.

The real choice, the one the people in charge don't want you to see, is between the old politics of money, power, and corruption represented by the Rebublocrats, and the new politics of the people, the environment, and the earth represented by the Green Party.

Let's look at some of the other bogus choices we're given these days:

Area The Bogus Choice The Real Choice
The Democratic Candidates This Year The Democratic race was always between Clinton & Obama. Almost all the other Democratic candidates are better choices for the nomination than the two "frontrunners." Edwards, particularly, was a viable and electable candidate, but the media decreed that he was irrelevant.
Kerry vs. Bush The only choice we had was between the "liberal" Kerry and the "conservative" Bush. Kerry and Bush were both wealthy members of the elite Washington in-crowd; both were members of the infamous Skull & Bones Club at Yale. The real choice was between the old-politics Republocrats and the new politics of the Green Party candidate, David Cobb.
The Energy Crisis We're told the choice is between polluting electricity generators like coal plants and dangerous generators like nuclear fission plants. The real choice is between those two old technologies and a clearly better choice - nuclear fusion. Our current technology, fission, is every bit as dangerous as it's billed to be; but fusion is a far safer, cleaner nuclear process. We aren't using it because we don't know how to make it work - YET. Why aren't we reasearching how to make it work? Follow the money.
Terrorism We're told that there are two ways to fight terrorism, militarily and diplomatically. The real choice is whether to fight it at all, or to step back and start doing things to prevent it. If we stop doing things to other peoples and nations that make them hate us, they're a lot less likely to try to hurt us.
Health Care We're told that the choice here is between the current system, with its obscene profits for the health care industry and obscene disregard for people's health, and "socialized medicine." The real choice is between the current obscene system and the universal, single-payer health care system that has been adopted by the entire civilized world (except for us), and that the Green Party's platform has demanded for years.
Cancer We're told that the choice here is between early detection and finding "the cure." The real choice is between assuming we're going to get cancer, with all the pain and death that comes with it, and working to prevent cancer with easy, inexpensive steps like a healthy diet and lifestyle. Why don't we? Follow the money.
Multiple murders, such as those at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University These events are being used as excuses to try to remove the right of the people to keep and bear arms - we're being told that the choice is between taking away our right to own firearms and more massacres like these. The choice that's being hidden behind that bogus choice is to restrict the sale of Prozac and similar psychotropic drugs. Steven Kazmierczak (the NIU killer), Jeff Weise (the Red Lake High School killer), "Unabomber" Ted Kaczinski, John W. Hinckley, Jr., Mark David Chapman, and Charles Carl Roberts (the Amish school killer), were all on psychotropic drugs.

As to whether banning guns would prevent tragedies such as these, at Virginia Appalachian School of Law, where Peter Odighizuwa shot three people, other students were able to get their guns from their cars and stop him before he killed even more people.

I also have an audio discussion of what bogus choices are all about on my Audio & Video Clips page.

Keep your eyes open. The "bogus choice" technique is so successful that it's used all the time - and all you have to do to see it is pay attention. There's a lot more of them out there.

(By the way, when you start to see the bogus choices, you're well on your way to
"seeing the fnords" that are all around you.)
